Dermal Fillers are FDA approved fillers that are ideal for correcting skin texture imperfections like acne scars, wrinkles, and fine lines. They are great for plumping and enhancing various parts of the face. It is an immediate and long-lasting solution to reducing the appearance of furrows, contour depressions, and acne scars. The benefits of DermaPhiler treatments should be visible for 6-12 months, depending on the location of the treatment, the type of dermal filler used and the nature of your skin. Experience has shown that smaller amounts of DermaPhiler are often needed for maintenance than for the initial correction.
Common Dermal Fillers in use:
- Restylane and Perlane
- Juvederm and Juvederm Ultra Plus
The active ingredient in Restylane, perlane, Juvederm and Juvederm Ultra Plus is Hyaluronic acid (HA). The HA molecules in Perlane and Juvederm Ultra Plus are larger than those in Restylane and Juvederm, and therefore, they usually last longer after injection (10-12 months as opposed to 6-8 months). Of course, it also depends on the rate of metabolism of your body.
• Radiesse
The active ingredient in Radiesse is calcium Hydroxylapatite, which also exists in our body. It is a more solid filler as compared with Restylane and Juvederm. It usually lasts 12-18 months or longer.
Common uses for DermaPhiler include:
- correcting folds and wrinkles of the face
- acne scars
- nasolabial folds (between your nose, mouth and cheeks)
- horizontal (upper forehead) frown lines
- glabellar (lower forehead) frown lines
- depressed corners of the mouth, also known as marionette lines
