M. J. Hajianpour, MD, PhD, FACMG, is Board-certified in Clinical Genetics, and Clinical Cytogenetics by the American Board of Medical Genetics. He is the founding fellow of American College of Medical Genetics.

With over 15 years of experience in Clinical Medical Genetics including, Dr. Hajianpour is a leader in the field and has been awarded the prestigious American Medical Association Physician's Recognition Award in 1982, 1991, and 1994. 

Dr. Hajianpour funded the "Gene Trek Medical Clinic" in 1999 for genetic services and medical weigh management, and "DermaPhil Laser and Skin Care Center" in Spring of 2005 for aesthetic and cosmetic services.  The center offers an exceptional level of medical experience and expertise in a completely confidential environment. 

I am a registered nurse with an “Associated Degree of Nursing”, “Bachelor of Science in Nursing” and “Master of Science in Nursing Management.” I have been working as a nurse since 1985, mainly in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Cardiac Care Unit (CCU), Neurosurgery ICU, Open Heart ICU, and Neonatal ICU. I started training in “Cosmetic Medicine” since 2003 and worked as a part-time cosmetic nurse after completion of training. Finally the complete transition in my nursing carrier from managing hospital ER and ICU to “Cosmetic Medicine” happened in 2005 when my husband, who is a medical doctor, and I opened our Medical Cosmetic Practice in Burbank, California. The concept of affordable non-surgical anti-aging measures to help us fight signs of aging and/or solve specific skin related problems is relatively new to the public. So, what I have learned during this transition is that the promise I made at the beginning of my career as a nurse to respect every one and each of my patients, educate them and make sure if they are making any decision it is an informed one, is more important than ever in this field.

I am a California Licensed Aesthetician. I earned a “Bachelor of Science in Psychology” from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo. After college I worked as an assistant manager for a department store. I quickly realized that management was not my passion. But what was my passion? Well it turns out that the answer to that question was “Skin Care.” I earned my aesthetician certification, and I couldn’t be happier. Immediately after receiving my California aesthetician license, I worked at a Med Spa in Beverly Hills and over time I realized that I wanted something more challenging. This led me to “DermaPhil Laser and Skin Care Center.” I am the newest addition to the Center and I am very excited about working with Dr. Hajianpour, Mitra, and Amanda. As I said before, I am passionate about skin care and helping others achieve their ideal skin. I look forward to meeting you.
